Create Order
When you need to order medication for your service users, you'll need to create a new order which you will send off to the relevant GPs to produce prescriptions that the pharmacy can then dispense and dispatch to your care home.
Ordering within HxCare is simple and straightforward.
In the left hand menu, you need to go to Stock and then Orders.
From this screen, if you have already placed orders, you will see a list of any existing orders and you will see a Create button at the top of the screen. Clicking this button will start a new order.
HxCare will only allow you to create orders for service users that have been linked to both a GP and a Pharmacy, so if the option to select a service is greyed out, this will be the reason.
Select the service user you want to order medication for.
The next screen will show you all the active medication that the service user has. You will see the current stock levels and you can input the amount you want to order. If you don't want to order any, you can leave the field blank.
Once you have entered the values you want, click on the Add To Order button. You can always go back into the order and update the numbers before you send the order if you need to.
This will return you to the list of service users and you'll see that the service user you just created an order for will have a tick icon to the left of their name.
Repeat this process for each of the service users you want to order medication for.
When you have completed all the service users, you need to press the Create Order button, this will take you to the orders screen with your newly created order at the top.
