Missed Medication

A medication administration will be classed as missed if:

• The next administration time of that medication has been reached and completed.
• The time reaches midnight.

You cannot set the administration as missed yourself. 

When a medication is Missed, it is marked very clearly on the MAR chart and you will have the option to go back and enter the administration details, if, for whatever reason, they weren't recorded at the time.

This gives you the flexibility to cover sleeping service users and any other flexible administration. Please note, that some medication have very specific administration times, so while HxCare will follow the rules above, it is up to you to make sure that the medication is administered at the correct time.

Any missed medication will also be listed on the Missed Medication Report.
